The Benefits Of Omega Fish Oil - Take Advantage Of What These Nutrients Can Do For You
Author: Laurel Cohen
If you are not yet enjoying the many physical benefits of omega fish oil, then it is about time you take advantage of what these essential nutrients can do for you. Millions of people are regularly using DHA nutritional supplements in order to help ensure the prevention of common inflammatory diseases. If you don't already know, then let me tell you what increasing the n-3 fatty acids in your blood will do.
There are millions and millions of people in the world that are suffering from diseases like arthritis, adult onset non-insulin dependent diabetes, asthma, cancer and cardiovascular disease. Many of us don't really realize that all of these ailments are connected by a common thread. It is inflammation in the body that causes each of these seemingly unrelated ailments to develop.
The primary benefits of omega fish oil are the anti-inflammatory properties that DHA and EPA omega fatty acids possess. These nutrients have the ability to shut down debilitating inflammation at the source, but only if there are high enough levels of n-3 fatty acids available in the system. In most people these fatty acids are simply overwhelmed by the tremendous presence of the factor that produces a continuous stream of inflammation in the body.
Since they are also essential nutrients, and highly beneficial to the body in many ways, most of us don't see the danger presented by the n-6 fatty acids in our system. These fatty acids, along with n-3s, are the tools that the immune system uses in order to quell sickness, and heal injuries. There is usually an abundance of n-6 fatty acids for the immune system to call upon, but very few n-3s.
After being called to duty by the immune system, the n-6 fatty acids begin to emit a steady stream of inflammation to the affected area until healing is complete. The trouble starts at that point when the n-6s, unable to stop emitting inflammation, continue producing to the point where there is damage to the organs and soft tissue. The defense of the body is where the benefits of omega fish oil come in.
Since it is impossible for you to achieve balance between the two fatty acid types through the foods that you eat, you are going to have to supplement your diet with DHA and EPA rich fish oil caplets. This will allow you to dramatically increase your levels of these two crucial fatty acids, stop the detrimental flow of inflammation, and help prevent the formation of chronic problems.
The addition of Astaxanthin and Lycopene add to the benefits of omega fish oil, by providing your supplement with a powerful influx of healing antioxidants. The main duty of antioxidants upon entering the body is cellular repair. These nutrients will help reverse the damage that has been caused, and further reduce the odds of you developing a serious, lifelong problem.
Everyone should be enjoying the benefits of omega fish oil with Lycopene and Astaxanthin, because what they offer you is a chance for a longer, healthier life.

QUESTION:
Does anyone here use Advantage or Frontline for cats and dogs?
First, which brand works better for fleas?
Second, can the same formula be used on cats & dogs? All my animals are under 20lbs.-
ANSWER:
I think Frontline works better. It has a money back guarantee that your pet will be flea-free for one month if used according to the package directions. No, cats cannot use small-dog frontline- it is too strong. They make a version of frontline just for cats. If you have more than one dog under 20 lbs, the dogs could share a box though.
PS: Don't buy the stuff online- it is often an illegal knockoff, expired, or the Australian version. Plus, if you get it anywhere other than your vet, the money-back guarantee is void. The company that makes Frontline ONLY sells it to veterinarians, because it is a prescription medication; anyone other than a licensed veterinarian who tries to sell it to you got it illegally. Get Frontline Plus from your vet.

QUESTION:
using Advantage topical flea killer for dogs on cats?
I use Advantage on my adult cat but my dad complains that it is too expensive so he wants to use the Advantage for dogs that are over 55 lbs because it comes with so much more for the same price. I would only put a few drops of the tube a month on my cat and safe the rest. Has anyone ever done this. I just don't want to get my cat sick but it says the have the same amount of the main ingredient?-
ANSWER:
Yes, I buy the 55 lb dog size on eBay and dose out out based on my cats' individual weights. It is the exact same formula, just dosed by weight. If you need to know:Cat -9 lbs, 4 ml
Cat 9+ lbs 8 mlNo problem. Been doing it for years that way.

QUESTION:
Can I use Advantage flea treatment for cats on dogs?
I just found a flea on one of my dogs and all I have right now is Advantage for cats, can I use it on my dogs? If so one of my dogs weighs 60 pounds, should I put two on her?-
ANSWER:
Yes you can. The regular Advantage is the same exact formula for dogs and cats and all sizes. DO NOT do this with K9 Advantix or Advantage Multi! My vet let me in on this secret when she gave me Advantage for large cats for my two chihuahua puppies. The dosage for 1 large cat is exactly twice what each dog needs, so I use a syringe (no needle) to measure the exact dosage for each dog. This saves me each time I need more Advantage because I can split it in two for each dog.
Further, the dosage for a cat is much smaller than what would be required for your 60 pound dog. You can use the cat Advantage on her but it will be a weak dosage. It may or may not rid her completely of fleas, but it will not harm her either.

QUESTION:
Can I use Advantage for dogs on my cats too?
What is the best, Frontline, Advantage or K9 Advantage.I have 1 dog (chihuahua) and 2 cats.
Could i just get some flea medicine for dogs and still use them on my cats?
And to save a little bit more money, could i get flea meds for dogs 21-55lbs and divide it up for my 3 pets?
-
ANSWER:
I actually have and am doing this with the Advantage under the direction of my vet.It can be done, but I STRONGLY advise you to discuss this with your vet and see what he recommends as far as dosage.
The biggest caution I know of is not to use Advantix, because it is highly toxic to cats.
